Distance: far and near

Sari tapes, kilometre ropes and millimetre rulers

Some things are near and small, like a seed. Some are far away, like the next town. In this chapter you will measure a sari in metres and centimetres, lay ropes along a race road to make a kilometre, and read a ruler right down to the millimetre.

Think about it

Shikha says a sari is 2 m 40 cm long. Sonu says it is 240 cm. Can they both be right?
